Charitable Gift Annuities
A charitable gift annuity is a way to make a gift to WNYC Radio and receive payments in exchange for the gift for your lifetime. A gift of cash or stock of $25,000 or more to WNYC Radio can provide a guaranteed lifetime income to you, your spouse, and, if you wish, other beneficiaries. A gift annuity is set up with WNYC through a simple agreement form sent to you for review and signature. The signing of the agreement signifies a contract issued by WNYC to pay you a lifetime income as specified in the agreement. Once the term of the annuity is complete, the remaining assets are added to WNYC's Endowment Fund to help sustain the programming you value into the future.
In addition to a guaranteed lifetime income, other benefits of a charitable gift annuity include:
- Income tax charitable deduction
- Income may be partly tax-free
- Elimination of capital gains taxes on appreciated securities
- Possible reduction in estate taxes
- Higher income for older beneficiaries
To begin a discussion on whether a gift annuity is right for you, please contact Elizabeth Culp, Manager of Patron Programs, at eculp@wnyc.org or (646) 829-4519 or via letter at:
