WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY June 08, 2008 —Now that Hillary Clinton has ended her presidential run, pundits continue to debate whether Barack Obama will tap New York Senator to be his running mate.
REPORTER: American University professor Allan Lichtman says, whatever happens, yesterday's speech was a good move for Clinton:
LICHTMAN: I think the speech puts her in the best possible position she could be in to be on the ticket. She had to be without reservation, without hesitation, without any kind of factial tics, an enthusiastic supporter of Barack Obama, and that's what she's done.
REPORTER: In her speech at the National Building Museum, Clinton acknowledged the disappointment of her backers, but she urged them not to sit it out the general election, saying there's too much at stake.
