'Piss Christ' Artist Returns

Photographer Andrés Serrano first became a household name in the late 1980s. One of his photographs, "Piss Christ," showed a crucifix immersed in the artist’s urine. The late Senator Jesse Helms turned it into Exhibit A in his crusade against public arts funding. Serrano has a new exhibit at the Yvon Lambert Gallery in Chelsea. The title of the exhibit, and the title of each of the photographs, uses the common four-letter word for feces. Carolina Gonzalez checked out the show and spoke with the artist.
