New York's 21st Century Explorers

In Latin America, October 12 is called "El Día de la Raza," Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Many of the estimated 300,000 people of Mexican descent living in New York have indigenous roots. Artist Felipe Galindo, a regular illustrator for The New Yorker magazine, imagines these immigrants discovering New York and remaking the city into their own image. He spoke with reporter Carolina Gonzalez about his work.
