The New York Yankees plan to auction off stadium seats and other memorabilia from the old stadium, and to do so, they'll pay $11.5 million to the city, which owns the site. Geoffrey Croft with New York City Park Advocates would prefer taxpayers benefit directly.

CROFT: I'd like to see that money go to actually replacing park land that was seized in the poorest congressional district in the United States.

City officials say the $11.5 million will go into a general fund. A frequent critic of the Yankees, Westchester Assemblyman Richard Brodsky, says relics from old stadium are worth much more.

The New York Mets struck their own memorabilia deal with the city, They're splitting the revenue 70-30 in favor of the city. So far, New York has earned 3.5 million from that deal.
