DOT Celebrates 200 Miles of Bike Lanes

The Department of Transportation is celebrating the completion of over 200 miles of on-street bike lanes. The project took three years to complete. Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. marked the occasion on the Grand Concourse today, encouraging even life-long New Yorkers to get a new perspective on the city from the seat of a bike.

DIAZ: If you use your bikes, you will go up and down the majestic Grand Concourse, you will go go all over the different parks, all of the different corners of the great borough of the Bronx. It's a great way to get out there and really get to know your borough.

REPORTER: The DOT says the city hopes to have 1,800 miles of bike lanes throughout the city streets and parks by the year 2030.
