Many New Yorkers are cleaning up today, after several thunderstorms last night that knocked down trees and scaffolding, and caused flooding in some spots.

Riverside Drive is closed from 97th Street up to 105th Street because of flooding and fallen branches and trees. Cars along Central Park West were also damaged by branches that were blown down by the strong winds.

Scaffolding was knocked down at a site on Manhattan's Lower East Side. No one was hurt.

The swift, brief storms did nothing to reduce the heat and humidity. Today's high will reach around 90 degrees, but will feel like 99. Cooling centers are open again across the city.
