Council Holds Hearing on ACS

A New York City Council committee is holding a hearing at noon today on the troubled Administration for Children's Services.

The Committee on General Welfare says the hearing will focus on the ACS's child protective services and will explore the problems there that became apparent following the recent death of seven-year-old Nixzmary Brown.

Prosecutors say that the girl's stepfather tortured and beat her in their Brooklyn home while her mother did not intervene.
