Schools' Chancellor Joel Klein says better funding, and more qualified teachers will improve city schools. Klein made the comments at a community hearing last night in Brooklyn.
REPORTER: But some in the crowded auditorium, like education advocate Lenoir Brown, are concerned that the reforms look good on paper, but won't work in reality.
BROWN: We just are in our in our 2nd week of the school bus dilemma, whatever it was that was put together by highly paid consultants. You paid them a lot of money but it didn't work, you are still working on it - getting it straight.
REPORTER: Klein is creating a position of CEO of parent engagement, who will report to him, and he wants to have 32 community district superintendents report to him. They had reported to regional superintendents; those positions will be dissolved next year.
