Rugged Marlboro Men. Biker chicks straddling their motorcycles. Muscle cars and luxury goods. Richard Prince is a photographer, painter and filmmaker who’s made those images the subject of his work for over 30 years. Prince’s work is often cited as inspiration for the postmodern movement in critical thinking. But an exhibition that opens today at the Guggenheim Museum also explores what Prince’s work has to say about America’s fascination with the illicit. The exhibition is called Richard Prince: Spiritual America. WNYC’s Allison Lichter reports.
