Redgraves Address Guantanamo Detainees

Last night, several members of the Redgrave family took the stage at the Culture Project Theatre in SoHo. Vanessa, recently starred in "The Year of Magical Thinking" on Broadway. She was joined by her sister Lynn, brother Corin and niece Jemma.

REPORTER: The Redgraves read from a poetry collection written by detainees at Guantanamo. Here's Lynn Redgrave reading "Even if the Pain."

LYNN REDGRAVE: Even if the pain of the wound increases, there must be a remedy to treat it. Even if the days in prison endure, there must be a day when we'll get out.

REPORTER: Shayana Kadidal attended last night's event.

KADIDAL: The very idea that these guys are sort of people with families who are articulate enough to sort put something like this together under these conditions, it's really kind of, it really brings home for you.

REPORTER: The event was part of a month-long series by the Culture Project that tries to engage audiences on issues that may influence how voters think about the next presidential election.
