In the mid-Sixties, Scottish guitarist Bert Jansch began blending influences to create a unique, expressive technique on the acoustic guitar. Jansch died a few weeks ago, on Oct. 5th, but his influence and example live on, and can be heard in the work of many guitarists who explore the potential of the acoustic guitar. Host David Garland presents some of Jansch's solo work, his work with the band Pentangle, and new music by the young Irish guitarist Cian Nugent, and Philadelphia songwriter Meg Baird.
