On Wednesday, Mayor Bloomberg, Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am and officials from the Robin Hood Foundation announced a new date for the free Black Eyed Peas benefit concert on Central Park's Great Lawn. The event, "Concert 4 NYC," was originally scheduled for June 9 but was cancelled due to rain.

At a press conference on the roof of the Department of Parks and Recreation headquarters, the officials announced that the concert would take place on Sept. 30. It will be the first time that Black Eyed Peas will perform in Central Park. All proceeds will go to the Robin Hood Foundation, a non-profit that works to battle poverty in New York City.

Some 54,000 tickets were already given away for the original concert. Those will be honored on September 30.

Guests will be encouraged throughout the concert to donate to the Robin Hood Foundation via text message, and a limited number of VIP tickets will also be sold.
