The Portland band Radiation City is pulling that music-biz trick of moving forward by looking backward.

Citing influences like Antonio Carlos Jobim and using retro-effects on its vocals, the band owes a lot to the music of the 1960's. The old school feel doesn't end with the last reverb on the vocals either. The band's album The Hands That Take You was originally released on Radiation City's own cassette-tape label called Apes Tapes. 

The track "The Color of Industry" has a lot to offer for fans of the new nostalgia. There are plenty of Oohs and Aahs backing up the reverb-soaked vocals, but there's also the big benefit of modern technology in the song's even mixing and lush sound.
