Whitney Biennial Blogged ... and Flogged

The names of the 55 artists in the 2010 Biennial were made public this month, and the blogosphere is abuzz with analysis, chatter and grand pronouncements.

We'll have to wait until the doors open in February to truly assess what Biennial co-curators Francesco Bonami and Gary Carrion-Murayari were thinking. The blogosphere, however, has already started.

ArtNet's Charlie Finch suggests the theme can be gleaned from the meager number of artists. He says a mere 55 means this is a "thrift shop Biennial"

All four photographers in the show are getting props. But the inclusion of Stephanie Sinclair and Nina Berman is especially exciting to the Intrepid Art Collector.

Jerry Saltz's piece in NYMag has created a lot of chatter. This year there are -- just barely -- more women than men.

Tell us what you've been reading about the upcoming Biennial.
