Richy Garcia, the 26-year-old Republican who is the sole opponent of Brooklyn Assemblyman and accused sexual harasser Vito Lopez, says he's had a change of heart and will continue his campaign against the embattled pol.

On Wednesday, Garcia had told WNYC he was bowing out of the race to pursue other interests. A day later, Garcia, wearing a polo shirt and slacks, was talking to reporters at a diner about his new-found passion for the 53rd Assembly seat.

“I feel that I have chance to win,” said Garcia, who is from the Dominican Republic and became a citizen 10 years ago. “I don’t think somebody that’s dishonest should be held in a seat. I think he should just step down.”

Lopez lost his leadership positions in Albany, as well as his spot as head of the Brooklyn Democratic Party, following accusations of sexual harassment surfaced in August.

Garcia’s mother-in-law is Ameriar Feliciano, the female Republican district leader from the 53rd Assembly district. He currently works at the Board of Elections warehouse in Sunset Park as a technician.
