New York state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman subpoenaed Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano's office and six other county agencies Tuesday as part of a probe into post-Sandy debris-removal contracts.
The investigation focuses on contract approvals and performance, according to a law enforcement source.
"We welcome it," Mangano said of the probe. "We followed all emergency procedures."
Schneiderman's office also subpoenaed the comptroller's office, the purchasing and public works departments, the county legislature, its clerk and its office of budget review, according to John Ciampoli, the Nassau County attorney.
The attorney general’s office declined to comment.
