In the Battle Beween Albany and City Hall... Gov. Cuomo Wins

Gov. Andrew Cuomo's raft beat New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's raft by 18 seconds in today's Adirondack white-water rafting contest.

The challenge between the capital and city hall is part of an effort to boost tourism in upstate New York.

“This is really big country rafting,” Bloomberg said. “One of the things that strikes you is how much water goes through there and how fast it goes.”

The river in the town of Indian Lakes in upstate New York feeds into the Hudson River. It’s a class 3 out of 6 on the rafting scale.
