During today's installment of our Seven Sins series, we heard how the sin of sloth – has a lot to do with melancholy. And few bands do melancholy quite like the British group Tindersticks.

Starting in the 1990s, as the Britpop wars raged between bands like Blur and Oasis, Tindersticks quietly crafted sad, symphonic pop that was filled with heartbreak. And lots of strings. After a five year hiatus, the group reformed last year for a new album called The Hungry Saw. Before their performance tonight at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple, they stopped by Soundcheck to play three songs spanning their career live in our studio.
