Audio not yet available
Sir Simon Rattle leads the Berlin Philharmonic in this live concert broadcast from Carnegie Hall, featuring music with global themes. We hear the United States Premiere of Thomas Adés' orchestral tone poem "Tevot," which explores the idea of the Earth as a "Noah's Ark" for humanity as it spins through space. Also heard on the program is Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde" (The Song of the Earth), in the tenor/bass-baritone version with star singers Ben Heppner and Thomas Quasthoff.
