Hear the new, neoclassical trio hailing from Montreal, consisting of violinist Sarah Neufeld, the touring violinist of Arcade Fire and serial collaborator; Richard Reed Parry, bass player, multi-instrumentalist (Arcade Fire) and cofounder of Bell Orchestre; and cellist Rebecca Foon (Esmerine, Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra, Set Fire To Flames, Saltland). This "Dream Trio" originally met in Montreal during the late 1990s while independently finding their footing in the local arts and culture community. For two years, Rebecca, Sarah and Richard collaborated in various capacities before embarking on their respective musical careers. They play collaborative music from their debut, First Sounds, “which reflects their enormous range: the record includes an acoustic form of ambient music, post-minimalist ensemble pieces, strings (and occasional wordless vocals) surrounded by an electronic haze, and chamber music abstractions”, (Schaefer.)
