Cliburn Takes Moscow

Van Cliburn getting a standing ovation after playing Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano concerto at the the Mann Auditorium, Tel Aviv, Israel, 1962

American pianist Van Cliburn will forever be remembered for one phenomenal Cold War moment. Everyone knew the twenty-three year old from Texas was good, but no one expected him to steal the show in Moscow in 1958. (Produced in 2008)
