Cardinal Egan Celebrates Mass After Illness

Despite still recovering from a heart condition and a gastro-intestinal virus, Cardinal Edward Egan has returned to lead Holy Week services after recently being released from the hospital.

EGAN: My brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, Welcome to St. Patrick's Cathedral.

REPORTER: Thousands of Catholics attended Holy Thursday mass across the city yesterday.

Egan says he'll also take part in today's Good Friday service called: the "Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross" as well as mass on Easter Sunday.

The 77-year old says he'll seek a second and third opinion before deciding whether he needs a pacemaker for his heart condition. He says it's been dormant for decades.
