Construction managers around the city are getting creative now that they will be without fresh concrete for the foreseeable future.

More than 400 cement truck drivers walked off the job on Tuesday after contract negotiations with cement companies broke down.

But Port Authority spokesman Marc LaVorgna says at least the strike won't have a major effect on the massive rebuilding effort at the former World Trade Center site. They weren't planning on pouring much concrete this week and there are plenty of other areas to focus on.

LAVORGNA: You know excavation work, for the bathtub, or if its work that revolves around the transit lines that run through the site, there are ways to sequence the work a little differently to mitigate the impact.

REPORTER: In a joint statement, the truck drivers union and cement companies say they are working together to come up with a resolution as soon as possible.
