The Old World Comes Through in the New

New York, NY —

Russian and Ukrainian émigrés have been a fixture in Brighton Beach ever since the Soviet Union opened its doors in the 1980s. A particular cultural institution of the ocean front community are the dinner and night clubs. There, through music, performers have recreated the old country, with a twist, in the new.
