New York, NY —
A worker fell to his death at a Trump hotel and condominium tower under construction in SoHo. Police say the worker fell at lest 30 stories to his death from scaffolding that may have been compromised by a crane.
REPORTER: The Trump tower has been controversial from the start, and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer says enough is enough.
STRINGER: Because we are rushing to put projects in the ground and build as quickly as possible. We're not keeping up with the safety protocols that could prevent these tragedies.
REPORTER: Stringer says the city's Department of Buildings issued violations to the construction company, Bovis, for operating a crane in an unsafe manner. He says Bovis was allowed to continue the work unchecked. The Department of Buildings has not confirmed the violations.
