Fire Officials Approve Duetsche Bank Standpipe

Fire officials say the standpipe at the former Deutsche Bank building is now fully operational. The F-D-N-Y tested the pipe this week and they say water can now reach all floors of the 26 story building.

REPORTER: Meantime, pieces of the broken standpipe are currently being examined to determine whether it was purposely dismantled or blew apart under pressure.

REPORTER: Two firefighters were killed in a blaze at the site last month where a broken standpipe prevented them from getting water to the upper floors of the building.
