Last month, an art collector took out a lawsuit against the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Art, accusing the Foundation of manipulating the market for the Warhol’s works by refusing to authenticate as many of his pieces as possible. It’s up to the courts to sort out the case, but the question of Warhol authenticity sparked Benjamen Walker to scope out just what counts as real in the world of Andy Warhol.
