Family of Steam Pipe Exposion Victim Plans to Sue

The family of the tow truck driver severely burned by the steam pipe explosion in midtown say they plan to sue.

REPORTER: Gregory McCullogh suffered third degree burns over 80% of his body and has been in a medically induced coma since the explosion almost 2 weeks ago. Attorneys for the family say Con Ed knew the pipe was a problem because several repairs were made earlier this year, and crews inspected the pipe hours before the explosion.

REPORTER: Junior Suarez joined the McCullogh family at an emotional press conference. He came to the 21-year old tow truck driver's after the 200-degree steam burst from the ground.

SUAREZ: "As I was cutting his clothes, I remember pulling back, pulling his shirt off and just skin coming off."

REPORTER: Attorneys for the family say they haven't set a figure for damages, because they don't know the full cost of McCullogh's rehabilitation needs.
