One of Three Damaged Buildings Opening at Steam Explosion Site

The Chanin Building near the site of this month's steam pipe explosion has re-opened. The building, at 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, is home to more than 125 companies. Most have been able to return.

REPORTER: Con Ed and the city’s department of small business services have staffers at the Chanin to help tenants file claims for federal and city loans to cover losses from the July 18th blast and the cleanup.

REPORTER: Two nearby buildings at 41st and Lex remain closed. It’s expected to take another couple weeks to open two lanes on Lexington Avenue to vehicles.
