New Jersey —
New Jersey lawmakers want the military to enforce new safety restrictions at the Warren Grove Gunnery Range. This, after an Air Force investigation found that a pilot who dropped a flare too low caused a massive fire in the Pine Barrens this May.
REPORTER: US Senator Robert Menendez says the report reinforces the need for new regulations.
MENENDEZ: The option of closing the range or pushing to close the range remains on the table. It is the burden of the military, in this case, to come up with a set of restrictions to preserve the mission and at the same time guarantee the safety as job one.
