Bloomberg Will Veto Cell Phone Bill

Mayor Bloomberg has vowed to veto a City Council bill that would allow students to take their cell phones to public schools. The bill stops short of allowing cell phones in the classroom and requires schools to come up with ways to keep students' cell phones for them during class time. Bloomberg says this isn't a job for schools.

BLOOMBERG: And the city council doesn't have the authority to even pass a law that would change how we do things in the schools, so this really doesn't change anything.

REPORTER: Bloomberg says this fall, a few schools will experiment with lockers where students can store their cell phones for small fee.
