City’s Small Businesses Honored

Ten of the city's small manufacturing industries will be honored this morning by the Industrial Retention Network. The organization recognizes small, environmentally-friendly manufacturing companies that create jobs for New Yorkers.

REPORTER: One honoree, Ken Bollella says there's no better place to do business. Bollella owns Bronx-based Globus Cork, which makes a variety of cork flooring.

BOLLELLA: You have workforce here, you have designers, you have artists with new cutting edge ideas and there's a creativity that's here that's unlike anywhere else.

REPORTER: There are 11,000 industrial businesses in New York City. They employ more than 230,000 people.
