New York, NY —
Jet Blue says it hopes to get back to full operations tomorrow, six days after a snow storm that has crippled the discount airline and has left its reputation in tatters.
Jet Blue has canceled almost a quarter of its flights today, in order to allow crews to get legally-mandated rest before flying again.
Tomorrow, David Neeleman, the company's founder and chief executive, is expected to announce a compensation system for passengers who are stranded on a plane for too long. The snow storm stranded nine Jet Blue flights for six hours or more on the tarmac at JFK.
Neeleman told the New York Times he was "humiliated and mortified" by the breakdown in the airline's internal communications system, and its reservation system.
