Outreach Worker Try to Help Clear Homeless Encampments

Last month, the city announced it wanted to clear 73 encampments where homeless people have made makeshift homes. While many of the sites are tucked away in spots unseen by most New Yorkers, the city says they are unhealthy and unacceptable places to live. Outreach workers have been charged with convincing people to leave. The job is tedious and takes time WNYC's Cindy Rodriguez recently spent an evening with an outreach team and has this report.
