Yankee Stadium
For the first time since 1962, New York will host a college bowl game. A Big 12 and Big East football match-up will come to Yankee Stadium at the end of December next year. City officials expect it to draw 40,000 people to the city. Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Junior says the new stadium was built to also host events beyond baseball.
Mayor Bloomberg says the college bowl game could generate $47 million in revenue and show off the city to new visitors.
