As WNYC's Lisa Chow reports, long-distance bus travel is gaining popularity for the first time in almost four decades. And the competition among bus companies in New York City is picking up speed too. Bus lines Greyhound and Peter Pan--already under pressure from Chinatown stalwarts New Century, Eastern, and the original Chinatown bus company, Fung Wah--last year started the low-fare BoltBus line. Both BoltBus and megabus.com now market their rides by offering services like wireless Internet and gimmicks including $1 seats.
With so many ways to get out of the city, which bus company do you prefer and why? Have you had any memorable travel experiences this week? If so we'd like to hear about it. Post your comments below.
