NYC Facing Another Heat Wave; City to Open Cooling Centers

Get ready for another round of hot, sticky, humid weather. A heat advisory is in effect until Saturday night, with temperatures expected to hover in the 90's through the weekend.

To ease the discomfort of the weather and help avoid heat illness, the city is opening cooling centers tomorrow and Saturday.

To find a center near you, call 311 or visit the cooling center locator at NYC.gov.

Those under age 5 or over 64,  and those with chronic or mental health conditions, are the most vulnerable to the heat. But officials say anyone with symptoms such as weakness, dizziness, shortness of breath or skin that's either extremely hot and dry or cold and clammy should see a doctor right away.
