Visitors traveling to New York airports from states hard-hit by coronavirus must quarantine for two weeks, and fill out health forms.
At LaGuardia Airport, passengers arriving from the 22 states on the list must complete a form that officials will use to ensure they're following restrictions. But it can be complicated.
Lily Drabkin, 23, flew into the city from California, which is on the quarantine list. But she changed planes in Illinois, which isn't. So she took it upon herself to find the person with the paperwork.
“We walked past the table at first and she didn’t say anything. So when we went back to the table, she kinda looked up and was like, 'Oh yeah, maybe fill that out.' But she didn’t seem to care,” she said.
Travelers who leave the airport without completing the form face a $2,000 fine, and the possibility of mandatory quarantine.
