An architect has been selected for the long-delayed performing arts center at the World Trade Center site.

Center officials said Friday the Brooklyn-based firm REX will lead the project.

The 80,000-square-foot, multi-use center is expected to open in 2019. It will serve as a cultural anchor for Lower Manhattan and also serve as a home for the Tribeca Film Festival.

It received $10 million in federal funds this month. The money will be used for design and engineering costs.

The design is expected to be unveiled in the spring.

REX is led by Joshua Prince-Ramus. He's currently working on the $200 million overhaul of 5 Manhattan West near the Hudson Yards development. Past projects include the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in Dallas and the Seattle Central Library.
