#AskTheMayor: Where the Money Should Come From to Fix the MTA

Mayor Bill de Blasio

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio shares his thoughts on the most recent vote on the health care bill. He also discusses ICE raids, employment discrimination, investments into the city by private developers, and homeless shelter facilities. In terms of the problems with the MTA, the Mayor says that "the MTA has had a management problem for a long long time." And while he thinks that the new Subway Action Plan is good, he thinks the city shouldn't be funding the fixes anymore than it already has. The Mayor says, "Let's get real about how much is being paid for directly and indirectly by the city of New York and the people of New York City. We still don't have fairness in terms of MTA funding being used."
