Atlantic Avenue: Exploring the promises of Vision Zero on one of Brooklyn's busiest roads

Cars, pedestrians, bicycles and more all share the street on Brooklyn's Atlantic Avenue. Busy is an understatement, and it can also be dangerous.

When Mayor Bill de Blasio launched Vision Zero in 2014, traffic killed 7 people on Atlantic Avenue. Ten years later, not much has changed. Traffic killed 6 people on the avenue in 2023.

WNYC's Michael Hill and Morning Edition producer Amanda Rozon visited the corridor to explore the promises and failures of Vision Zero on the busy road.
