Bernie Sanders Rally Draws Thousands to Prospect Park

Democratic presedential candidate Bernie Sanders and Danny DeVito attend A Future To Believe In GOTV Rally Concert at Prospect Park on April 17, 2016 in New York City.

With New York's primary election Tuesday, Bernie Sanders took to Prospect Park on a beautiful Sunday to make his case before Brooklyn voters one last time.

The rally drew thousands and featured celebrities including Danny DeVito and the band Grizzly Bear. While recent exchanges between the Vermont Senator and his opponent Hilary Clinton have been tense, WNYC's Andrea Bernstein says Sanders took a more positive tack this time.

"Sanders did keep up his drumbeat of attacks on Clinton," she said, "but it was very different. Sanders ended this rally on an up note, talking about the power of people coming together saying 'love trumps hate,' which is also a Clinton line."

Clinton leads Sanders by double digits in most New York polls, even as the two remain neck-and-neck in many national polls.
