Food Fridays
has begun, and this year, we have a cause: Lunch.

It’s what many of us look forward to from the minute we wake up in the morning. So why do we treat it with such disdain? Spending tons of money on roasted turkey and meatballs at the hot buffet, or ordering chopped up pieces of lettuce that pass for a meal? By some measures, eating out adds an average of 134 calories to your meal – even more if you go for fast food. And it’s expensive: Americans spend about $936 a year eating lunch out—with Northeasterners spending 14% more than the national average. That means you, New York.

We need to change our lunch habits, together.

Join Leonard’s “Hack Your Lunch” challenge and bring your own lunch to work every day for a week starting Monday June 22. Check out our Tumblr lunch gallery and send us photos of your lunches to share on our Twitter and Facebook pages (post them anywhere on social media with the hash tag #hackyourlunch). Tell us your hacking stories, and we might even put you on air. Sign up at the top of the page to get started.
