Some New York City Councilmembers say the NYPD needs more oversight of its DNA database. At a hearing on Tuesday, lawmakers raised concerns around getting DNA samples without proper consent and how the NYPD stores the DNA of some people, including juveniles, who have never been convicted of a crime.
