This story includes detailed descriptions of sexual abuse.
A Columbia University gynecologist is serving a 20 year sentence for sexually abusing his patients. More than 240 people have alleged that Dr. Robert Hadden abused them under the guide of clinical care, but the university where he worked for 25 years has faced few consequences.
Reporters Bianca Fortis and Laura Beil dug into Dr. Robert Hadden's prolonged pattern of abuse. They looked at how his victims fought for his prosecution, and how they say Columbia tried to deflect culpability. Their new report is published on the news site Pro Publica, in collaboration with New York Magazine and the podcast studio, Wondery.
