Cory Booker Reflects on His Path from the Newark Council to the U.S. Senate

After completing his education at Stanford, Oxford and Yale, U.S. Senator Cory Booker began his career as a tenant's rights lawyer in Newark, New Jersey. He went on to serve on the Newark City Council, and later, as Mayor, until his election to U.S. Senate in 2013. His book, United: Thoughts on Finding Common Ground and Advancing the Common Good, Booker shares details about his personal life and career, and reflects on the value of civic activism and offers ways to move forward as a democracy.
