DA Does Not Seek Bail For Staten Island Bar Owner Accused of Hitting Sheriff's Deputy With Car

Daniel Presti, the Staten Island bar owner who openly flouted the state’s COVID-19 safety rules, was arrested over the weekend after allegedly striking a deputy sheriff with his carPresti faced numerous charges at his arraignment on Sunday, including felony second degree assault causing physical injury to an officer. The felony charge is bail eligible, but the Staten Island District Attorney consented to Presti’s release without asking for bail.
