Academy Award winning director DA Pennebaker and DOC NYC artistic director Thom Powers talk about the first Documentary Preservation Summit at IFC Center. The event will gather filmmakers, preservation experts and others to address the risks of important documentary films being lost and strategies for ensuring their future. It also aims to increase public understanding of why many classic documentaries aren't available to the public, and why there’s great concern over the state of digital storage. The Summit runs from March 31 to April 1.
