A Dogsledder's Tips On Staying Warm While Social Distancing Outdoors This Winter

The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine began this week, but it will be months before most people are inoculated. That means seeing friends and family outside will remain the safest way to socialize through the winter.

WNYC's Danny Lewis spoke to an expert in spending hours outdoors in the cold—author and dogsledder Blair Braverman. Her big tip: New Yorkers need to "embrace the puff."

"People don't want to seem like they need a huge coat but that's so silly," said Braverman. "The thing that insulates you, it's not having the fanciest fleece, it's not having the right base layer, it's air."
